The UK was a first-rate Sea power so only natural that the Royal Yachts would see much active duty, shuttling Her Majesty back and forth to the Royal retreat at the Isle of Wight. The Isle was a government reservation and cut off from the mainland except by Radio- wireless telegraphy . Victoria"s funeral arrangements were thus literally (telegraphed) back and forth to the mainland by the newly invented radio telegraph, certainly the first use of this for undertaking assignments!
