Did 1960 Tudor watches ever have Rolex on the dial?
No, never! Rolex and Tudor, although have the same owner and have very similar design, are entirely different watches. Rolex watches are made with Rolex movements, Tudors are made with ETA movements (the same movement as in Omega). No Tudor watch ever had "Rolex" on the dial. It was very popular not so long ago to purchase Tudor watch and refinish it to say "Rolex" or "Rolex - Tudor". But all these modifications are done by unauthorized specialists, such as myself. w-precision

Yes I have dealt with them and I was totally satisfied with Melrose Jewelers. They, unlike other jewelry sites, promptly answered a question that I e-mailed them, and I was impressed with that. I wasn't sure what the difference was between a president Rolex and an Oyster Rolex, they explained that it described the type of band the watch had. They even went on to tell me more than I thought I would ever need to know about a Rolex watch. The sales associate Scott helped me make an informed decision instead of trying to sell me the most expensive model they had. We worked around my budget and not his commission, which is truly a nice change from the normal salesman type. I received my rolex datejust, and its 100% genuine I am very happy with the watch. So you can go ahead and Buy from them.

It depends what you mean by 'best'. Rolex make their own movements whereas Omega use ETA and add their expertise. I have had 3 Rolexes, 1 Breitling and I currently wear a Seamaster Professional Chronometer (James Bond watch) daily plus it's waterproof to 1000 feet, which is handy in the shower! With Rolex you're paying for the brand name and the kudos, so my answer is they're both absolutely great watches, it depends how deep your pockets are. I wouldn't buy an Omega, Rolex or any other 'high end' watch from any auction site and be wary of any watch that doesn't have paperwork, boxes etc, as no-one ever throws them away. If there's no paperwork and box then it's extremely likely to be counterfeit or stolen. If stolen, then when the watch is serviced (they have to be every 3 or 4 years) it will be checked against the stolen register and you won't see it again. Rolexes and Omegas are always expensive, so be wary of any ridiculously cheap watches as well. Rolexes and Omegas simply don't cost £100.
