We have no idea where Anne lived as a child. It could have been in Galilee. Tradition does tell us that Anne and her husband may have moved to Jerusalem and the Blessed Virgin Mary was born there.
While there is nothing in scripture about Saint Anne, she was undoubtedly a Jew from Israel, probably from the town of Nazareth and/or Jerusalem. We do know that the family was in Nazareth at the time of the Annunciation.
