What exactly do you mean by that description? You have expressed a subjective opinion as though it were a fact, and then asked someone else to explain it. That's not a reasonable thing to expect.
I think that if one were a Russian one might expect a different answer, but we understand the romantic movement to be German. Therefore, unless you expect him to be a discerning follower of of Rubenstein (somewhat good argument), and therefore a follower of the romantics (another feasible but questionable argument), then you will forgive me if I still sense that he, as a musician, was less than read up on the philosophy that built the Nazis.
By the way, I know that he was a Tartar, but why do the Jews claim? It seems unlikely, frankly. They've got enough great pianists!
