Shawn is currently taking a break from gymnastics after the Olympics in August of 2008. She did a 3 month tour with many other Olympic and past Olympic gynmasts call the 2008 Tour of Gynmastics Superstars. By chance Shawn was asked what one of her favorite shows was during an interview at the Olympics and she said "Dancing with the Stars". DWTS called Shawn's agent up and asked if she would be interested in participating in Season 8 of DWTS. Shawn was really excited and could not say no to this awesome opportunity. She just recently won DWTS with her partner Mark Ballas. Shawn says that she would like to compete in gymnastics again, but is currently taking one day at a time and seeing what comes her way. Lately, Shawn has never had a day that was like another. She is just an amazing person who has taken a break from gymnastics to enjoy the rewards that came from working all her life to go to the Olympics and then end up winning the gold medal on beam. She deserves it!
