There was no exact date.
5th of July 1687 was the sharpest date, which was the date of publishing of the "Principia".
If you type into Google Principa Mathematica this is the calculus that he formulated to solve the mystery of gravity.
I know it was in the 1600's but cannot remember the exact date.
Olly
Sir Isaac newton is responsible for discovering an incomplete formula for gravity. He knew that the mass of two objects contributed to the gravitational forces and the Distance Squared worked inversely against the force. It took a Swedish scientist by the name of Henry Cavendish to discover that the entire equation needed to be multiplied by (6.67x10^-11) in order to obtain the correct force. This number above is known as the gravitational constant or G.
Isaac Newton discovered or formulated the laws of gravity. The laws exist and are a part of nature they were there before he discovered them, but yes it was he who wrote them down.
yes. Issac Newton was first to explain the still valid and undisputed law of universal gravitation.
Yes he did.
Because Sir Isaac Newton was one day watching an apple fall from a tree. Eventually he had come up wiith the force of gravity. Also, apples are affected by gravity, just like nearly everything else.
Sir Isaac Newton's theory of gravity was written in 1687, however he did not come up with a theory of relativity. The first person to come up with a theory of relativity was Galileo Galilei, but this theory turned out to be incorrect. In a paper in 1905 Albert Einstein built upon Galileo's ideas and produced the special theory of relativity. This is a very famous paper that turned the physics world on its head. The equivalance of mass and energy in his most famous equation, was deduced as a result of this theory. Furthermore, In 1916 Albert Einstein produced the General theory of relativity, a theory of gravitiation which is an extremely successfulvand famous theory. This is the gravitation theory that we use today, as it is supremely accurate. However, Newtons theory of gravitiation works well for speeds much less than the speed of light in a vacuum, and has the benefit of being much less complex!
Gravity is a subject on its own and not a part of Newton's famous 3 laws of inertia. Newton however, did present a theory of his own for gravity, according to which - masses attract each other in an inverse-square ratio. This is called "the inverse square law of universal gravitation."Newton provided a very simple formula to work with, and today people still use it when they need to solve problems in classical physics. In the relativity theories, however, gravitation is treated completely differently.
because an apple fell next to him and he started to wonder why it doesnt float in air so he started to explore gravity
Gravity (as we know it) was discovered by accident by Isaac Newton when he was sitting under an apple tree, then all of a sudden an apple hit him on the head which he then proposed the theory of Gravity based on what happen and coined, "What goes up, must come down".An apple fell on Newton's head and he somehow drew observations and inferences.
Gravity...he discovered the principle of "what goes up must come down."
oh have forgotte
Sir Isaac Newton created the theory of gravity and the 3 laws of gravity as listed below...... 1.wat goes up must come down 2. for every action there is a opposite reaction 3. gravity is a force that pulls us to the ground,,, cause without gravity we would float into space
Gottfried Liebniz and Isaac Newton are credited with co-developing the Calculus, based on work from Archimedes, Cavalieri, and others. But only Newton also studied gravity, and attempted to come up with a theory about how and why it worked.
The theory of universal gravitation
Isaac Newton developed the theory of gravity. When an apple hit him on the head, he asked, "Why did that apple fall down instead of up?" Then he looked at the moon and wondered why it does not fall down. He had to come up with the branch of mathematics called calculus to figure it out.
Me haha, actually it was Sir Isaac Newton - talking about gravity
The theory of universal Gravitation. Got it right on Odyssey :)
He created a physic law, not sure of the name but it basically states what goes up must come down (gravity).
Well Isaac Newton probally just liked doing what he did. But he did have solid evedince before hestarted reserch. And he had to prove what happened otherwise he would have been beheaded for going against what the king said. Remember he was living in the 16 and 17 hundreds.
Because Sir Isaac Newton was one day watching an apple fall from a tree. Eventually he had come up wiith the force of gravity. Also, apples are affected by gravity, just like nearly everything else.
The law of inertia is also known as the laws of motion. Sir Isaac Newton was a physicist working in Woolsthorpe located in Lincolnshire England when he discovered these laws.
