NO South Korea did not sign the armistice in 1953, therefore North and South Korea are still at war.
At the 38th Parallel, in the Demilitarized Zone. Specifically at Panmunjeom, a small village at the Demilitarized Zone, on July 27, 1953. This village is now a tourist spot where one can see (using binoculars) North Korean villagers across the border doing their daily chores. The zone is only 4 kilometers wide.
South Korea's official languages are Korean and Korean Sign Language. Their currency is 'won' or ₩.
They agreed to be peaceful and stop fighting.
July 27, 1953 The United States, North Korea and China sign an armistice, which ends the war but fails to bring about a permanent peace. To date, the Republic of Korea (South) and Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea (North) have not signed a peace treaty. North and South Korea did sign a non-aggression treaty in 1991. Information from the following website: http://www.korean-war.com/TimeLine/1953/timeline1953.html
A ceasefire stopped the fighting on July 27, 1953. There was an armistice signed by North Korea, China and the UN but not South Korea. Korea is still split into North Korea, which is communist, and South Korea which is non-communist. The border, protected by a demilitarized zone, was established along the 38th parallel. Before the armistice, talks had gone on for nearly 2 years. Eisenhower had promised that if he was elected in the election of 1952, he would go to Korea and end the war. There was no simple way to end the conflict. Talks had collapsed in October 1952. In 1953, the US threatened to bomb China, but eventually a ceasefire was declared between UN forces and Korean/Chinese forces. The "De-Militarized Zone" which designates the border between North and South Korea has remained one of the most heavily-armed stretches of land on Earth. The stability of the region is threatened by the development of nuclear weapons by North Korea. === ===Through an armistice on July 27, 1953
Hitler thought the armistice was a sign of Germany being weak and traitorous.
South Carolina and North Carolina have never been at war, they are part of the same country.
They never did. Instead they signed an armistice in1953. Theoretically they are still at war. @ er Actually, the south did NOT take part in the signing of the armistice of 1953. It was only the other nations involved the in war including North Korea. So "they" did not sign.. Yes, theoretically the two Koreas are still at war. I think the two Koreas met separately later (199?) and signed some sort of ceasefire, but I cannot confirm this..
1914
it needed so much for its own benifits
11 November 1918 .
France signed an armistice with Germany because it was overwhelmed by the blitzkrieg, when Germany invaded France.
