The Favorite series is composed of many different variations, some only differing in the sights. The #21 Ladies Model is actually quite rare, but is often confused with the #21 Bicycle Rifle. They are marked similarly, but the Ladies Model has a vernier tang sight, high grade walnut stock and a Swiss buttplate. Digital pictures would help. firstname.lastname@example.org
All my records indicate that stevens did not make a model 337 shotgun. If your stevens shotgun is marked U337 under the receiver, this would be a serial number, not a model number.
It should be in the right side of the receiver, (small numbers)
Stevens 12 ga, Model 77D, made before 1968 may not have a serial number. However, some do! If it has a serial number, it will be behind the trigger on the receiver side.
The model number is stamped on the right side of the receiver on many Stevens products.
Check the receiver and barrel.
You can try WWW.savageparts.comthey handle a large number of parts for savage Stevens arms
Check the barrel and receiver. Sn's were not required before 1968
I do not believe the model 325's were manufactured after 1968. Therefore they required no serial number and yours may not have one. If it did have a serial number it would be on the receiver.
From the information I can find, if it was made before 1968, it probably doesn't have a serial number. In most cases, the serial number on a gun is pretty well out in the open and visable, usually on the receiver.
Serial numbers were not required at that time.
Look on the top of the receiver with the gun disassembled. You should find it there.
If I am understanding your question correctly, you are looking for the receiver number & this number can be found on the back panel of your receiver. The receiver number will begin with R000000000 & is generally located in the bottom left or right corner of the back of the receiver.

I would say No, but if anyone can tell you for sure, it would be John Callahan, a private Stevens historian. You can find contact information at www.savagearms.com. I can tell you that it is NOT a ladies model if it is not either .22 or .25 caliber or if it has a barrel length other than 24 or 26 inches.
The starting receiver is on the outside of the field, is the number 1 receiver on the depth chart.
Most Stevens shotguns have a model number on the right side of the receiver (5000, 5100, 3xx, 2xx). If the company name is marked "J. Stevens Arms Co", it was made after 1920 when Stevens became a division of Savage. Sometime in the 1940's the "J" was dropped. Riverside shotguns were made by Stevens. I'm not sure when they started and stopped using this name, but a Riverside hammergun should be the Model 215 which was produced from 1913-1932. The Model 215 hammergun was sold as the Springfield-Stevens from 1930-1932. On the left side of the receiver is: Springfield manufactured by J.S. Stevens Arms Company Chicopee Falls, Mass. USA Pat. Feb. 10-1914
What's the year of my Stevens? Serial number p116495
If you will tell us exactly how the company name is marked, we can probably place it within 10-15 years. *J. Stevens and Co. - 1864-1886 *J. Stevens Arms and Tool Co (or A&T Co) - 1886-1916 *J. Stevens Arms Co - 1920-1942 *Stevens (or Stevens / Savage) - 1942-1991 (but with no serial number, before 1969) The Stevens name was revived in the late 1990s, but so far only on updated versions of the single shot Favorite and Ideal models. Stevens models 066, 086, and 66 are the only listings in the Standard Catalog for tube-fed bolt-action 22s. Are any of these numbers marked on the barrel or receiver? The exact model doesn't matter much as all the bolt-action 22s are listed under the same entry for $25 in poor condition and $150 in excellent condition.

Sure it does, but you probably have to disassemble the firearm to find it.If you think it has value then do such, otherwise sell it for a profit and move on. Your serial number on the 9478 should be on the side of the receiver, and should begin with a letter then numbers
THE NUMBER IS A PRODUCTION NUMBER NOT A MODEL NUMBER. I HAVE USED THAT NUMBER TO IDENTIFY PARTICULAR GUNS IN MY COLLECTION BUT, I AM NOT CERTAIN IT CAN BE CALLED A SERIAL NUMBER EITHER.
The Riverside model number will be identical to the Stevens number.
If made before midnight, December 31, 1968, it will not have a serial number. If made later, it will be clearly marked on the receiver.
