He preached against native American adoption of white customs. He fought on the British side in the War of 1812, and was killed in 1813.
Tecumseh was one of the Indian leaders in the war of 1812. He believed that the settlers had no right in claiming land; that it was land for all of the tribes to share. He ended up dying in Canada after going into a treaty with Britain. Tecumseh's role was to rally tribes and convince them to ally with the British against the US.
