yeah i believe he did, because he wasn't doing it out of personal gain, he wanted more land for the country, he saw a great opportunity, and he argued that he did have a constitutional right because he said it was included in a treaty, which made it constitutional. America gained a lot of agricultural progress out of that land, and it was a big success and help to america. I believe that it was the right choice.
