Julian himself has said that that John made some pretty negative remarks about him when he was a child, and that he doesn't really have many pictures of him and his father together. Julian was only 5 when his parents divorced, and he didn't have much contact with his father for several years.
Julian and John reconciled somewhat in the mid-1970s (apparently at the urging of his father's girlfriend May Pang), and Julian has stated that his fondest memories of his father are from that time.

∙ 13y agoPaul McCartney wrote the song "Hey Jude" for Julian. He spent a lot of time with Julian and was probably more of a father figure to Julian than John was. When Julian's parents: John and Cynthia Lennon were going through their divorce Paul wrote the song to let Julian know things would eventually be alright.
