Multi-Media Message Service. Different from SMS (Short Message Service) because it include photos, video etc.
There is probably an app, but I send a text message of the photos to my email & open it up on my laptop and then save it from there.
You can only add photos on your user profile. You cannot add a photo in a question; in an answer; or on the message boards.(See the Related question below.)

You can share photos in Yahoo Messenger by selecting a contact's name and then select actions and share photos. A message will appear stating that the contact has been invited and once the contact accepts the photo can be dragged and dropped into the conversation box.

I am not aware of being able to "lock" a message, but you can take a picture of the message by pressing the menu and lock button simultaneously and it will be saved in your photos. This works great for saving random cool things that come across your iPhone.
