Yes, his main political connection (U.S.) were the letters to president Franklin D. Roosevelt. He sent four letters to the president stating that Germany would become a threat if they developed, what is now known as the atomic bomb. (Einstein's) E=mc2 later led to the atomic bomb. He also had connections with Ghandi. (He met with him to sign a manifesto against compulsory military services.) He also had connections to Queen Elizabeth of Belgium. Einstein traveled around the world, at the peak of his career, and met with many leaders, public figures, and scientists, so those above are just a few.
