Yes You would probably die ___________________________ Considering that the center of the Earth is a vastly hot molten ball of iron and rock, there is no way to ever get to the center of the Earth. My apologies to Jules Verne.
No human being has ever been farther from earth than the moon is. When Mercury and the earth are closest together, the separation is about 238 times farther than the moon is from the earth, i.e., 238 times farther than anyone has ever been from the earth.
Well, for one thing, at every place you've ever been in your life, or are ever likely to be, "down" is always the direction toward the center of the Earth. When you think of it that way, it would be pretty weird to expect the Earth to fall toward the center of the Earth, wouldn't you say ?
The black hole nearest to our Earth is (fortunately) several thousand light years away. No human has been farther from our Earth than our Moon. Thus, we are technologically quite a ways away from being able to travel to a black hole.
