Did captain smith sink the Titanic?

yes

Why did Captain John Smith let the Titanic sink?

The name is Edward Smith. He listened to Bruce Ismay when he told him to go faster. When the ship hit the iceberg, there was nothing he could do at that point. There weren't enough lifeboats on the ship, not enough for half the people. Captain Smith would not have taken one of those lifeboat spots for himself of course, so he had no other option but to go down with his ship.

Why were the lifeboats a concern for Captain Smith?

He was afraid the Titanic might sink because of the icebergs

What is the sink made out of?

It is said that there were many people but the two main people who caused the Titanic to sink. Captain Smith (Captain Edward John Smith) and Thomas Andrews. Captain Smith was the Captain of the Titanic and Thomas Andrews was the engineer who built the ship. Captain Smith was responsible because he wanted to make it to New York one day earlier than they planned so he sped the ship up. but that night it was very foggy and he didn't see the ice burg. when he finaly saw it, it was to late to turn around and the ship grazed the edge of it causing it to fill with water. Thomas Andrews was responsible for the sink because at the bottom of the ship there are massive big compartments. he said that the ship was able to have four of those filled up with water and the ship still not sink so he claimed it unsinkable. but, when the titanic grazed against the ice burg, it opened up a big hole and five compartments filled up with water. the ship started to sink at the front but the pressure was too much. near the end it split in half. the big end went down first then the little bit that had snapped off went down afterwards. altogether it took about an hour for the ship to sink. I hope I have answerd your question and I hope I have helped you!

Who thought the ship titanic was going to sink?

Nobody really knew that Titanic was going to sink until Thomas Andrews confirmed it to Captain Smith at 12:25; 45 minutes after the collision.

What if the Titanic did not sink?

The ship would have arrived in New York, New York on Wednesday April 17, 1912. It would have continued to be a revolutionary ship for a short time, but not much longer. The captain, Edward John Smith, would have retired, for the Titanic was supposed to be his last voyage. Also there wouldn't be as strict of safety rules aboard ships today if it weren't for the Titanic sinking.

What part did Edward John Smith?

Edward James ('E.J.') Smith was Captain of the Titanic, and the senior captain of the White Star Line. He was in command during the disaster and oversaw all of the emergency procedures for evacuation, distress signalling and the safe shutting down of the ship's coal-fired engines, to prevent boiler explosion.Tragically, the voyage was to have been Smith's final one before his retirement- he died in the disaster, probably going down with the ship, although some survivors report having recognised hearing his voice after the liner sank asking if there was any room left in one of the boats. "Hang on to what you have, old man" one passenger replied, "One more person would sink us all". "That's alright, boys" came the reply, "Good Luck, and God Bless you all". Nobody can be sure that this was Captain Smith, but by all accounts it did sound remarkably like him. At all events, his body was never found- his heavy woollen sea uniform and boots would quickly have become waterlogged and weighed him down, causing him to sink.Captain Smith was 62 years old and left a wife Eleanore and a daughter Helen; a ststue in his memory stands in Southampton.
