No. The colonists only taught reading, math, writing, and they were usually taught by the local ministry.
Native American children were in government schools and not allowed to,leave until they were 21. They weren’t allow native language, traditions, clothing, and other things that connected to their lifestyles as Native Americans.
I've seen this a lot. I've taught since 1986. I've taught in public schools in WV, FL, NC, and TN and a charter school in Florida. Each and every one of those started with the pledge of allegiance.
That will depend on the instructors. Some schools do not allow students of questionable moral character to participate. There is no law against it, though most prison systems do not allow it to be taught inside.
Believe it or not, 50% of schools allow electronics on campus, but they have diffrent views.
They didn’t need to resist. The white culture didn’t want them. They wanted them dead or on reservations starving. Native American children were removed to government schools. These schools didn’t allow them to practice their traditions, native languages, and made them wear clothing that wasn’t traditional. These children stayed at the schools until they were 21, but when they went home they weren’t accepted by their tribes and white cultures didn’t acccept them. Many killed them selves.
Some schools do not allow backpacks because they worry that weapons can be hid in them. Some school allow it if the backpacks are clear.
All native children were taught in the ways of their tribes until the 1800's. The United States government decided to open schools for the Native American children, but what they managed to do is treat generations of childrenhorribly. The government removed the children from their tribes, cut their hair ( for the boys the cutting of hair meant that a parent had died), removed the native clothing and put them in suits and dresses, didn't allow them to practice their own customs, and didn't allow them to speak their native tongues. The result was children who didn't know who they were or what they were. When they were done in the schools the children were allowed to go at 18, but now they didn't know the ways of their tribes nor the language. Yet, they were not accepted into the white society. They were a people without a home. Some committed suicide, others drank, and a few ended up in prison. This was a shameful thing that the United State government did.
no school allow gum
Generally speaking, they cannot. Our traditions (generally speaking) do not allow for their "study" of human remains, and burial contents of graves. It would be no different than me digging up your grandmother and dissecting her corpse in order to study your culture.
schools should allow i pods at school because they work better with them because its less of a distraction.
Zafrina
No, they don't. They only allow safe websites.
