In 1948, Halford Boudewyn was awarded the Colonial Police Medal (silver) by the Governor of Singapore for his efforts During the Japanese Occupation, he disguised himself as a vegetable seller. He was actually a spy for the Allied Forces. His job was to smuggle stolen documents of Japanese plans to take control of India. The documents were important because they provided information about Japanese troops and their weapons.
