He believed that individuals had a human nature of goodness
Hobbs: people are basically evil and need society (a strong dictator) to control them and harness them in, otherwise their lives are "nasty, brutish, and short" Locke: people are basically good, and join in a society to highlight their potential rather than mitigate their evils
Humans are neither good nor evil, but share a set of natural rights and needs.
heck ya man

Humans are neither good nor evil, but share a set of natural rights and needs.
John Locke didn't believe in any religion. He was a philosopher and a writer who believed that a good government is based on a social contract between the people and the rulers.
Rousseau believed that humans are inherently good and that civilization was evil.
I an a Jehovah's Witness. We do not believe there are truly evil people other then the devil and the demons. people who are not good and do horrible things, they do not get to go to heaven or paradise.
Yes people who believe in spirits believe there are good and evil spirits. I could not tell of their purpose of existence
Or evil
Hobbs: people are basically evil and need society (a strong dictator) to control them and harness them in, otherwise their lives are "nasty, brutish, and short" Locke: people are basically good, and join in a society to highlight their potential rather than mitigate their evils
Two fameous philosophers. To make a long story short, Locke-People are good Hobbes-People are bad
Humans are neither good nor evil, but share a set of natural rights and needs.
yes i know one
Well it's depend on the person thinking God made every one equal. Men's, and, Women's are equal. If the person think bad than he/she is evil and if the person thinks good then he/she is not evil. For example: The people who kill other innocent people without any reason just for enjoyment are evil and people who always think good about others not just for there own self are good!
It is impossible to say how many people "believe in evil." Believing in evil does not constitute following or being that evil. There are people that belive in the Devil, but do not follow him. Belief is just acknowledging the existence of such a thing. There may be people that think evil is just a figment of our imaginations to make up for our lack of taking responsibility. However, most people probably realize that evil is (in my opinion) a very real thing. Even those that belive that there is good in everyone know that there may still be evil in some of them.
Jesus believed magic was evil. The Scriptures support this.
