Knights didn't make bows and arrows, nor did they serve as archers. Archers were looked down upon, and not considered to be 'real soldiers' by the nobility. This is why the French lost Agincourt, because they refused to acknowledge the significance of the British archers on the battlefield, and so they refused to adapt their tactics to compensate for them.

Only when they went hunting with other lords or in tournaments. In battle the would wear plate armor and carry a melee weapon.
