Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. Numbers 12:1
I believe she was a Midianite.Answer #2Zipporah is described as an Cushite or Ethiopian woman in Numbers 12:1.
Possibly; Moses married Tzipporah, a Midianite, but later in the Bible he is mentioned to have a Cushite wife. However, it is also possible that a.) both refer to Tzipporah ("Cushite" means African, and some scholars believe Midian was around modern Sudan) or b.) Moses practiced polygamy, much like other Biblical figures.
MidianAdditionallyShe and her family lived in Midian but she is described as an Cushite or Ethiopian woman in Numbers 12:1.
Zipporah was Moses only wife.(Exodus 2:21) After that Moses showed willingness to dwell with the man, and he gave Zip‧po′rah his daughter to Moses. At Numbers 12:1 she is referred to as a Cushite.(Numbers 12:1) Now Mir′i‧am and Aaron began to speak against Moses on account of the Cush′ite wife whom he had taken, because it was a Cush′ite wife he had taken. This does not indicate that Zipporah had died and Moses had remarried an Ethiopian woman, as is commonly contended, for although "Cushite" usually refers to Ethiopians, it can also embrace those from Arabia
Moses wife.......Yes. Moses' first wife Zipporah was "Shemitic" (descended of Noah's son Shem). However, Moses married a second time to a woman from Ethiopia (Kush)--whose name is never mentioned. One has to remember that Moses grew up in Egypt. This can be found in the Bible: Numbers 12: 1-15. To correct the above, He married a Kushite woman. Kushite's were the southern neighbors of Egypt which is modern day Ethiopia and Sudan.
Two. Zipporah (Exodus 2:21), and a Cushite woman (Numbers 12:1).AdditionallyHowever, there is debate over the issue of whether Zipporah from Ex 2:21 is the same wife as the reference to his wife described as an Ethiopian (or Cushite) woman in Num 12:1. There are arguments for both sides of the issue. Rabbinical commentary such as that from Rashi believe this woman to be none other that Zipporah and Moses had only one wife.
Moses was in Egypt, his wife and children might have been there or with Moses' father in law.
2 Wives, Zipporah and the Ethiopian Woman.AdditionallyThere is debate over the issue of whether Zipporah from Ex 2:21 is the same wife as the reference to the Ethiopian woman in Num 12:1. There are arguments for both sides of the issue so we cannot be absolutely sure.
