Marco Polo's travels influenced mapmakers and inspired Christopher Columbus, among many other explorers.
I think it was Vespucci
The name of Marco Polo's mother is not recorded in any surviving record for the period and therefor is unknown. Little is known about her other than she died when Marco was a boy.
The important word here is 'explorers. These are people to set out for the purpose of discovery. To travel to unfamiliar or unknown regions and to include scientific research. So, they are the same, it is just that the area of exploration is different
Other explorers helped Europeans learn about new lands by sharing their maps, navigational techniques, and information about geography and resources. They also provided firsthand accounts of their experiences in uncharted territories, which inspired other explorers to venture out and discover new lands. Additionally, explorers like Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta popularized the idea of exploration through their travel narratives.
There was no "explorer" who inspired Columbus to go on his ship to sail westward, however, the reason he went on his quest to prove the earth was round was that there was a competition held by the Queen to see who could find the shortest route to India, in a search for gold. As for "other European explorer", there have been hundreds of Europian explorers. Please be more specific.
There were many explorers before the 17th century. The most famous of these is probably Christopher Columbus, who set sail in 1492. There were also many of the Spanish Conquistadors who explored before that time, namely Hernan Cortes, Francisco Pizarro and Hernando de Soto. Other explorers who sailed to the Americas were John Cabot, Walter Raleigh (although his travels were closer to 1600), Francis Drake. Other explorers went in other directions than to the Americas. Marco Polo, who travelled to the Orient, is probably the most famous of these. Ferdinand Magellan, a Portugese explorer, was the first person to circumnavigate the globe (he died partway through his voyage, but one of his ships successfully completed the circumnavigation). Prince Henry (the Navigator) of Portugal explored the North African coast.
