I got to Woodstock on Sunday afternoon Aug 17, 1969. The first band I saw play was Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane. I'm trying to find out if it rained before I got there. Did rain cause the Airplane to have an afternoon set or was it some other reason?

The original Woodstock took place during the summer of 1969, August 15-18. I have a reputable book called Rock & Roll - Year by Year by Luke Crampton & Dafydd Rees that puts the first Woodstock in Sept 2-4 of 1967. I'd imagine this book would be a better source than Wikipedia =)
Hendrix played the very last show at Woodstock. He insisted on being the final performer and was scheduled to perform Sunday at midnight. He didn't take the stage until 9AM on Monday morning and played for about 2 hours to a dwindling audience. Here is the song list of that morning:Message To LoveHear My Train A Comin'Spanish Castle MagicRed HouseMaster MindHere Comes Your Lover ManFoxy LadyBeginningIzabellaGypsy WomanFireVoodoo Child (slight return)/Stepping StoneStar Spangled BannerPurple HazeWoodstock Improvisation/Villanova JunctionHey Joe
