Hendrix played the very last show at Woodstock. He insisted on being the final performer and was scheduled to perform Sunday at midnight. About 500,000 people attended the event after it was declared free. Performers included Janis Joplin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, and many more.
