no they lived in separate houses which were usually rented either giving their share of crops to the thitle barn or giving money.
Serfs houses were very poorly constructed. They were made out of mud or sticks
usually a hearth, table and some cots to sleep on. remember people were not that wealthy :)

Kings & Queens were the Highest-ranking class in the Medieval Times. They weren't as rich as Nobles (sadly to say...) but they controled ALL the power over the land and lived in castles with serfs and servants.
Noblemen would have serfs or servants fan them with palm leaves, and upper-middle class use ice blocks, but as they were expensive, this was a luxary. Serfs were forced to just bear the heat.
