No, all of the TH400's were 3 speed.
Transmissions cost 400 to 500 dollars.
Gears in transmission are bad .
A Turbo 400 transmission typically has three forward gears and shifts a total of two times as it transitions from first to second gear and then from second to third gear. It operates in a simple three-speed configuration, meaning it does not have overdrive or additional gears beyond these three.
The optional transmissions were the Powerglide, the Turbo-Hydramatic 350 and 400.
There are 3 foreward gears and 1 reverse gear.
yes
the long tail is for mid & large veh. the short tail is for camaro & firebird.
No it will NOT interchange. The 350 and 400 turbo are actually VERY different transmissions.
I believe it is a turbo 400
Looking Forward - anthology - has 400 pages.
No...it will have the bolt pattern of the Pontiac, Cadillac, Olds and Buick. Chevy has a different bolt pattern. There are some transmissions that do have the dual bolt pattern, but I don't think the TH 400 was one of them.
The splines on the transmissions were the driveshaft slides into are different on the 350 and 400 turbo's So that means you will have to change the yoke on the end of the driveshaft.
