∙ 8y agoFirst, it should be made clear that it is against the tenets of Orthodox Sunni and Twelver Shiite Islam to deify Muhammad. Proper Muslims who fit into these categories do not worship Muhammad and only worship a singular God. Monotheism, Tawhid (توØيد), is a central belief of Islam. That being said, there are Hadiths that seem to indicate that a section of the Muslim community had crossed the line and begun to deify Muhammad or certain aspects of Muhammad.
