The answer is yes! I had one. 307 engine with a V-8, "three on the tree" manual shift, rear wheel drive. Surprisingly fast!

chevy did not offer the ss package on 307 cid engine as far as I know they did offer it on the 350 cid how ever

The 307's were rated right around 200 horsepower (SAE Gross) with a 2bbl and single exhaust.
The novas had two type of engines, If I remember the one for yours might be a 350, I had a nova '68 , had a 307 short block in it, but a old friend had a nova 2 dr coup which had a 350 in it back in the year of 1978.
