US President Richard M. Nixon resigned the presidency in August of 1974. By doing so, he avoided possible impeachment.
He is doing a speech on Richard Nixon.
As far as I can see, they didn't. Nixon was more corrupt than the media told us--I guess they figured you couldn't handle the truth. If you want a presidency that was wrongly effected by the media, look to Ronald Reagan. Reagan's administration, as judged by the number of people in it who were indicted, was THE most corrupt administration to date with something like 175 indicted members. The media put a halo on Reagan because he was publicly a nice man who made Americans feel good. If the media was doing its job, Reagan would have lasted about a year.

Sitting down and doing nothing. kinda like clinton.
no- I have never heard that term used and nobody thinks about the possibility of the president resigning. My grandson is doing a Problems of Democracy workbook. This was a question in that workbook, and the question had to be answered. Believe me, I think it was more of an opinion.................this workbook is horribly HARD!
We might never know the exact answer to this question, but it's probably a result of both while the occupant (Nixon) was the greater contributor. The wire taps were a response to an event in which the Media leaked news of secret bombings in Laos during the Vietnam war, the bombings having been ordered by the U.S. secretly. Nixon's illegal tappings were an attempt to prevent the same thing from happening again. The President's high power allowed this to happen, but the fact that Nixon was the president probably made a bigger difference. There are a few things that suggest this. For one, the power of the presidency had been at an all-time high point since the second world war started. Despite having wartime powers, no previous president was known to have been spying in such a way, despite fears of communism which Ironically led to the senator MacCarthy, not president Truman, doing the spying. Also, Nixon was known to be a relatively paranoid person in general. He had famous list of enemies and trusted only a few people. Lastly, Nixon resigned upon getting caught for illegal activity. He likely realized that the rising power of presidency was no excuse for the crimes. There is obviously more to the issue than just these few reasons, but there's a good amount of evidence showing that Watergate was more the result of the individual than the power.
"During his presidency" is an adverbial phrase, because it concerns the time of doing something.Adverb because it states when.It is an adverb phrase, answering the question "when."
