The Nazi persecution of the Jews had almost nothing to do with religion. It was about 'race' and 'the Jewish spirit' (whatever that is).
Anne Frank was Jewish. She and her family went into hiding during World War II to escape persecution by the Nazis because of their Jewish faith. Anne described her experiences in a diary which became famous worldwide.

It wasn't a "king", it was Hitler who ordered the persecution of the Jewish.
To be Jewish can mean you either practice the Jewish religion, or are from a Jewish decent. It is both a race and a religion. Someone that is culturally Jewish may not practice the religion, but has a Jewish heritage. Likewise, people that do practice the Jewish religion do not have to be culturally Jewish, or have Jewish ancestors.
There aren't areas of the Jewish religion.
The cross is not a symbol within the religion of Judaism, it is strictly a Christian symbol. That being said, from a historical perspective, to the majority of Jews view the cross is a symbol of death and persecution.
Because of ignorance, intolerance and bigotry.
