No. The Christmas tree came about in the middle ages. The Celtic tribes saw evergreens as eternal trees and when the Catholic church took control of Europe they used the pagan symbols in services. Christmas Day in the middle ages consisted of three church services and a large dinner. The evergreen was one of things that was used. It represented the three sides of God ( the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). If you look at a pine tree you can see a triangle shape with the points representing God. Later, in Germany, the evergreen was brought indoors, had candles put on it, and was decorated. After the Dickens Christmas story was published in England the celebration of Christmas took on a whole new look, but the Christmas tree remained and other customs were added from the story. The large Christmas dinner is one of the things that became a must have. As immigrants from Europe arrived in the Americas they brought with them the customs and the Christmas tree tradition.
it depends where you are, yes there are but not in the cities or villas.
Of course. There was a great variety of trees in antiquity as there is now. In fact, most of the trees which were around then are still around now.

The ancient Romans ate a variety of veggies, but they did not have access to the "New World" veggies, such as tomatoes, potatoes, yams, etc. Lettuce, asparagus, and beans were favorites.
The idea of "space" was unknown to the ancient Greeks and Romans. They believed their gods lived in a variety of places, depending on the god (e.g. underground, mountain peaks, inside volcanoes, in the waters, in the sky, inside trees). All of these places were in some sense part of earth, so all their gods were as much restricted to earth as the ancient Greeks and Romans themselves were.
