they create packages to keep things fresh, and if we didn't have fresh packaging you would become very sick, they help in hospitals to cure, create, and make bookings, if we didn't have these then many people would die. They help make things safe in workplaces, at home. They are useful in research, homework etc... these are all vital things that we need computers for in todays society. these are just starters as there are many other affects computers have on society today. hope this helps! :D

Computers in today's society is a double edged sword. Over all we are more efficient in our day to day functioning. Examples: pulling up files from the server instead of a filing cabinet, wait staff putting your orders into a computer then the kitchen recieves and fills them, email, etc.

Unfortunately there's a down side. People are starting to loose their "people skills" with all this dependancy on computers and smartphones(which are minature computers that can make phone calls). People are relying more on text than one on one interaction. In that way computers are hurting society.
