It gave them alot of hope because they knew that if they won the revolutionary war that they would be able to have a simile to represent each and every one the men and woman that served in that hard time.

They do not mean anything. Significant explanations regarding "bravery", "honour", "bloodshed", "courage", "hope" and so forth, were all later creations made by the dictatorship after the 1930's. The red flag with a green circle in the center were the colours of one Republican revolutionary flag hoisted in the Oporto City Hall in 1891. From 1891 to 1910, red and green flag colours became the symbol of the Republican movement. If any historical connection, the red can be directly linked to others 19th century movements, as a symbol of one revolutionary and popular statement.

Yes, the song "Wavin' Flag" by K'naan contains several figures of speech, such as similes ("when I get older, I will be stronger, they'll call me freedom just like a wavin' flag") and metaphors ("give me freedom, give me fire, give me reason, take me higher"). These figures of speech help to convey the theme of hope, unity, and resilience in the song.
The Swiss flag is a square (the only quadratic flag in the world, besides the State of the Vatican) composed of a white cross (centered) on red background. Three remarks can be added: The Swiss flag is the color inversed flag of the Red Cross Organisation (I hope everyone knows what that is!!!); that's because the Red Cross has originally been created by the Swiss Henry Dunant because of the wounded soldiers in the battle of Solferino 1859 - he therefore simply inverted the colors of his country's flag. Second, the Swiss flag appeared for the first time in 1339 during a battle and representing the confederate troops. Third, the Swiss flag is used in a 2:3 dimension (not squared) on sea. her is the Switzerland flag hope that helped!!!! ~signed~ ~warriorcatsgirl~

pride and hope
The flag is worn with the appearance of being backwards on soldiers RIGHT arm to symbolize early American armies which had a flag carrier holding our flag high (which looks backwards from one side while correct from the other). The backwardsflag signifies this and gives the perception that every soldier is carrying a flag. Left arm patches are correctly laid. It is worn backwards to make it look like a soldier is marching into the wind carrying a flag and the wind is blowing into the flag. I hope this is more understanding. This is the same reason for astronauts.
