he was a good emperor
The emperor Titus had a good reputation and was much loved by the people during his reign. At first they thought he was going to be another Nero as he liked wild living, associated with stage people and actors, and carried on a blatant affair with a Jewish princess named Berenice. However once he was confirmed as emperor he changed and settled down to be one of the better emperors even though his reign was short and marred by the disaster in Pompeii.
he was good and bad
He was a great leader and accomplished many things. Also he calmed the citizens down after the assassination of Emperor Domitian?
They built a wall around the city to keep out invaders.
No. Titus was considered a very good emperor and was beloved by the people. Of course, he didn't get to rule long enough for a proper assessment of his reign.
The first emperor to decree that Christianity should be tolerated and that Christians had the right to practice their religion was Galienus in an edict he issued in 311. Co-emperors Constantine I and Licinius agreed, when they met in Milan in 313, to reiterate the Christians' right to profess their religion without prosecution and added a provision for the return the land confiscated from Christians during Diocletian's persecutions and the payment of compensation. This is often called the Edict of Milan, but it is not clear whether a formal edict was actually issued.
Yes, he was able to dig the roman empire away from their trust issues.
A Roman emperor was expected to be a military man. He was supposed to either have field experience or have good generals under him. (even Caligula was planning a military venture) Claudius had neither. So, in order to give his reputation a boost, Claudius "invaded" the previously subdued territory of Britain and made it a province.
I have got a (good or bad) reputation and you have not got a (good or bad) reputation.
A very good reputation.
It depends on what you mean by worst but Emperor Nero was said to be the worst because of the bad things he did to Rome. In his earlier times, he created Nero's Bull which was a big metal bull with giant fire pits at the bottom. He would chose slaves to throw down there and listen to their screams echoing through the bull. It is also believed that he played the fiddle while the great fire of Rome was taking place. Caligula was also known as one of the worst emperors, but Nero was at the top of the naughty list.
Claudius II had a good reputation. He defeated a huge Goth army in the Battle of Naissus (268 or 269 AD). This ended invasions of the eastern part of the Roman Empire by the Goths and Heruli which had been taking place on and off for thirty years. For this he was given the title of Gothicus (winner against the Goths). Later, Constantine the great, who was born at Naissus, claimed descent from Claudius Ii to bolster his bid for power. According to the medieval Golden Legend of 1260, St Valentine refused to deny Christ before the "Emperor Claudius" during a persecution of the Christians and was beheaded. As the first emperor named Claudius did not persecute the Christians, it was believed that the legend referred to Claudius II. Since then February 14 had been the day dedicated to this Roman priest and physician since then.
