It depends on which country's army you're referring to. I'm going to assume you mean the US Army. The US Army initially fought in North Africa. Once the Axis were driven out of Africa, the Army contributed towards the invasion of Sicily and then Italy. While they were still fighting in Italy, another significant portion of the US Army participated in the Normandy Invasion and subsequent liberation of France and the Low Countries, and the invasion of Germany at the end of the war. The Army didn't participate as much in the Pacific War- for the Americans, the Pacific war was mainly fought by the Navy and Marine Corps. Not that the Army was entirely absent- they were certainly there (for example, the overall commander was General MacArthur, who served in the Army; also, the US Air Force was technically part of the US Army until after the war), just not in the same massive numbers that saw combat in Europe and North Africa.
The US participated in both the European Theater and Pacific Theater of World War 2 and with the cooperation of the Allies they were victorious in both theaters.
They supplied a few troops to the fronts in the last few years of WW1
The US Navy's primary battleground was the Pacific Ocean. The US Army's primary battleground was Europe. The US Air Force DID NOT exist. They were part of the US ARMY.
US Army General Stillwell, CBI Theater; US Army General MacArthur Southwest Pacific; US Navy Admiral Nimitz, the rest of the Pacific Theater.
Douglas MacArthur .
General MacArthur for the Army. General Howling for the Marines.
The Pacific Theater of Operations was so large it required two US/Allied supreme commanders: Navy-Admiral Nimitz/Army-General MacArthur.
The US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan and forced them to surrender and dismantle their army. This is the answer to the end of the pacific war, maybe you meant a specific battle?
The first war that involved the US Army was the war of 1812. The Continental Army fought against Britain in the Revolutionary War.
Almost anywhere, Europe, South Pacific, Asia, Alaska, South America, Africa of the US.
