to be honest i think they
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie were not served.
The foods served for that first meal were very different than what we typically think of as a modern Thanksgiving Feast with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie were not served.

no
the pilgrims did. they hollowed out a pumpkin, filled it with cream and sugar, and baked it for the first thanksgiving.
Yes It was Because The Pumpkin Pie they Didn't eat ?
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie is we only heard in class. But there is more than that. I am certain that rice and beans will be in the meals of most Americans. Happy Thanksgiving Day.
they didn't eat clams at the first thanksgiving
Francois Pierre la Varenne, a famous French chef and author of a very early cookbook in the 17th century, described a pumpkin pie.It was probably not until 1796 when Amelia Simmons cookbook "American Cookery" was published. It was the first American cookbook written and published in America, and the first cook book that developed recipes for foods native to America. Her pumpkin puddings were later baked in a crust and similar to present day pumpkin pies because of the references to pumpkins (not pies) by the pilgrims of Plymouth. Pumpkin pie was not really pumpkin pie back then. It was known the first settlers complained about the lack of flavor in pumpkin offered by the natives who simply roasted the squash in the ashes of a fire and ate it. To make the gourd more palatable it is likely the pilgrims cut the top off the pumpkin, added milk (when available) honey and spices. They would then simply roast the whole thing beside the fire and scoop out the pulp.
There is no way of knowing exactly what was served at the First Thanksgiving, but it was likely they did not eat creamy mashed potatoes, pumpkin pies, or cranberry sauces. There were different game birds, corn bread, vegetables, sea food, and berries.
corn, beans, patatoe, squash, and pumpkin i think
The Pilgrims and the Indians were the creators of Thanksgiving Day.Some of the food items brought to the first Thanksgiving feast were: corn, venison, turkey, bread, potatoes, and milk.
