No, there were a lot of styles of music in the 1950s, but not rock. The fifties was the birth of Rock 'n Roll; early Elvis, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
