Controversy on this topic is due primarily to Gavin Menzies' book "1421: The Year China Discovered The World", which concluded that Zheng He explored most of the globe, including West Africa, Greenland, North and South America, Australia, the Falklands, Antarctica, among other parts of the world. This conclusion is nonsense, and is considered so by professional historians. Columbus is actually who discovered America.
