The main difference between a business analyst and a systems analyst is that the BA is business specific and focuses on the broader context in the business of business changes and systems development for a business. On the other hand, the systems analyst will focus on system specific requirements.

∙ 13y agoSystems analyst is more technical in nature. They both effectively gather requirements however the Business Analyst will do this with the objective of meeting the business requirements. The Systems Analyst will be more technical and more focussed on analysing how systems will work and how they will work together.
Often, the 2 roles are merged to make 1 job - Business Systems Analyst.
