It's the same thing. Just a different way to show files.
In windows explorer "Tools" menu, select "Folder options".
Simplest way in Internet Explorer is go into Tools/Internet options/general and delete files. Aletrnatively use Windows explorer (Accessories) to go into the folder in your C drive TEMP and delete them manually.
Firefox: type about:cache into the address bar. Internet Explorer: Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Browsing History -> Settings -> View Files

By default the tile view files are displayed in the Windows Explorer
There is no difference. They are downloading the same files you choose, the machine you are using is using a different program to obtain them. The equivilant of using a Ford or a Honda to get to the mall. You still get to the mall, but you may use a different brand to get there.
