Thyrotoxicosis: A condition resulting from excessive concentrations of thyroid hormones in the body, as in hyperthyroidism.
Hyperthyroidism: the overproduction of thyroid hormones by an overactive thyroid.
Hypothyroidism is when the thyroid slows down, possibly causing weight gain.
Hyperthyroidism is when the thyroid speeds up, possibly causing weight loss.
Hypothyroid means that the thyroid is under-active. Hyperthyroid means that it is over-active. Most cases of hyperthyroidism eventually "burn out" and become hypothyroid.
I think that I`ve got this the right way around! the first is an under-active thyroid gland & the second an over-active thyroid
Thyrotoxicosis is a hyperthyroid condition.
Thyrotoxicosis is another term for hyperthyroidism, which is overactivity of the thyroid gland. There are many complications that can arise from Thyrotoxicosis. The most dangerous complication is heart failure.
Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone. Hyperthyroidism can cause several complications, including heart complications. Another name for hyperthyroidism is Thyrotoxicosis
yup.......may consider as thyrotoxicosis but not assosiate with hyperthyroidism
Other names for hyperthyroidism, or specific diseases within the category, include Graves' disease, diffuse toxic goiter, Basedow's disease, Parry's disease, and thyrotoxicosis.
Graves' Disease. It is the most common cause of Hyperthyrodism and Goiter. Graves' Disease causes toxic Goiter which than ]will present with symptoms of thyrotoxicosis such as palpitations, hyperactivity, weight loss despite increased appetite, and heat intolerance.

Grave's Disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis are two that I know of. Grave's tends to have a steady stream of hyperthyroid symptoms while in Hashimoto's tyroiditis it might start out hyperthyroid and as the antibodies attack it will eventually dwindle down to hypothyroidism. Somtimes there will be bursts of hyperthyroid behavior as the thryoid gland is destroyed by antibodies in Hashimoto's thryoiditis.
Hyperglycemia is high blood sugar; thyrotoxicosis is dangerously high levels of thyroid hormone.
