Thomas Chang found the cure and died of the disease because it was too late to treat himself
In 1882, Robert Koch identified the causative agent or TB

Robert Koch
Tuberculosis is named after the microbiologist, Robert Koch who discovered the tubercle bacillus in 1882. Tuberculosis is also called the Koch's disease.
No-one discovered it, it was INVENTED.
I think he studied anthrax but im not sure he discovered it "/
The word "germ" can be a noun. It refers to a microorganism, especially one causing disease.
HIV is a virus.
bacillus tuberculosis.
Louis Pasteur was the first man to stumble across the germ theory, and was discovered in 1861. This then led to many other diseases being found as everyone know knew that germs caused disease. Robert Koch was one of these scientists and he found the cure for two of the most deadliest diseases from the time: cholera and TB (tuberculosis), with the help from a microsope he was able to isolate the germ that caused the disease and so other scientists could then work on how to cure the diseases.
Due to the variety of its symptoms, TB was not identified as a unified disease until the 1820s, and was not named tuberculosis until 1839 by J.L. Schonlein.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis
This Norwegian scientist discovered the germ causing leprosy. There is no record of his having suffered from the disease.Dr R Ganapati, Director Emeritus, Bombay Leprosy Project
the most common strain that causes tuberculosis in humans is Mycobacterium tuberculosis. there are also other strains, but in terms of incidence, they do not cause much damage in humans. examples of this is Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium africanum. these strains are more common in animals.
A germ free state is asepsis. This is the state of being free from disease-causing contaminants or preventing contact with microorganisms.
