Rickets
Low vitamin D levels can be caused by several factors, including insufficient sun exposure, which is essential for the body's natural synthesis of the vitamin. Other contributing factors include a diet low in vitamin D-rich foods, certain medical conditions that affect absorption (like celiac disease or Crohn's disease), and obesity, which can sequester vitamin D in fat tissue. Additionally, older adults and individuals with darker skin may have reduced synthesis of vitamin D due to lower UVB absorption.
There is more than one reason that your vitamin D is low. It could be due to lack on sunshine or poor diet.

Rickets. It occurs in children due to deficiency of vitamin D.
Vitamin D has actually been shown to have a protective effect on the heart. Recent study showed that Vitamin D reduced all cause mortality and it is so powerful that low vitamin D levels may be considered to be an independent risk factor for heart disease. The list of side effects of Vitamin D do not include any heart problems or ischemia.
You could get a disease called rickets if you have a Vitamin D deficiency.
A sweaty head is a classic signal of low Vitamin D3, the form of D the body makes from sunlight. Bone pain and muscle weakness can signal low Vitamin D levels, too. Over time, severely low D levels can cause an illness in children called rickets. In adults low D contributes to osteoporosis and the jawbone loss that accompanies periodontal disease. They're finding that Vitamin D plays many roles. Healthy D3 levels better mental outlook, improve physical energy, and fight cancer.
