No, I have a dynex 55 inch and 42 inch and only my 42 inch has digital optical plug in. No idea why the 55 inch dont have the optical plug in but it is BS!!
A Toslink IS a Fiber Optic Digital Interconnect cable
Fiber optic cable
By using Fiber Optics, we can achieve 100Gbps.
Fiber optic cables transmit digital signals as pulses of light.
The advantages of using optical cables over conventional cables are a higher sound quality, less distortion and easier troubleshooting. They are used for digital audio recording as well as fiber optic cable feeds.
It can be either or depending on the circuit, here's a link that will help you more: http://communication.howstuffworks.com/fiber-optic-communications/fiber-optic.htm
Different fiber optic tools are used for different sized fiber optic cable maintenance. There are several different fiber optic tools, for example, there is the splicing fiber optic tool, test fiber optic tool, and cleaning fiber optic tool. The benefit of buying the same tool in different sizes may come in handy sometimes.
Fiber Optic.
The transmission characteristic of a fiber optic channel is highly non-linear. It makes it a very bad medium for analog signals. Luckily it doesn't interfere with digital transmissions.
heterodyne fiber optic system?
Fiber optic equipment may refer to equipment used to manufacture fiber optic cable. It may also refer to equipment that uses fiber optic cable, such as some telecommunication firms and DSL providers. Fiber optic equipment include a wide range of the products, most commonly seen fiber optic equipment in the market are the connectivity fiber optic connection. It makes going online much faster and easier.
Fiber optic cables are nothing but another transmission medium. All the protocol which works on Ethernet cable will work in Fiber optic cable also. In case of Ethernet, the digital data will be sent in electrical signal format. But Fiber Optic cables are passive devices. They can not conduct electrical signals. So the digital data signals needs to be converted to Optical signal before sending that via fiber. Usually after the conversion process, the header will be added. This header will be added by the originating device of the optical signal and will be removed by the receiving optical device before sending that signal via Ethernet or some other transmission medium..
