No they do not---in my experience with a total of five in 15 years--- they are herding dogs and are way too intense on the herding portion of their job.

They are great little dogs-- who do not know that they are small--but do not lend themselves to the Seeing Eye task, Alert dogs for hearing impaired --- most definitely--- I use one for that purpose and he is excellent at that task.
