A:

The 'Rapture' is a theological invention of John Nelson Darby, the nineteenth-century founder of the Plymouth Brethren. Barbara R. Rossing (The Rapture Exposed) says that Darby's new teaching was that Christ would return twice, first in secret to "Rapture" his church out of the world and up to heaven, then a second time after seven years of global tribulation for non-believers, to establish a Jerusalem-based kingdom on earth. The Catholic Church says that this is heresy, but there are undoubtedly some Catholics who would believe it. Either way, the Rapture has no genuine biblical support, so there is no good reason to believe there will ever be a Rapture.

A:

No, i don't believe they do. I base this on many comments from catholics that i have received when debating them. However, we do see the rapture in The Bible: Matthew 24:30-36.

What don't Catholics believe in?

For one thing, Catholics believe it takes a lot more than just faith to be saved. We must couple faith with good works. This theme is repeated over and over in the Gospels as well as in the Epistles. Nowhere in the Bible will you find the term 'Solo fides' - by faith alone. That was strictly an invention of Martin Luther. Catholics also do not put much credence in the 'Great Rapture." Catholics also do not believe in the Boogey Man, vampires and zombies, tooth fairies, the Easter Bunny, the Great Pumpkin or Santa Claus as he his portrayed today as a commercial figure. Have I missed anyone?
