No, it does not.

While Eucharist is a central teaching of the catholic church, the church teaches that we live in the hope that all are saved where there is goodness and faith

Roman Catholic AnswerYes, the Eucharist is Our Blessed Lord, Himself, His Body and Blood, His Soul and Divinity, He created the entire world, and He is bringing the entire world to its end, and everyone in it that is predestined for salvation finds their salvation only in Him. In addition, all of the Sacraments draw their efficacy from and point to the Most Holy Eucharist, so even if you have only been baptised, that you are already oriented towards the Most Holy Eucharist. Can you be saved without the Eucharist? No, that would be saying that you could be saved without Our Blessed Lord, who is the source of our salvation. Can you be saved without actually partaking in the Eucharist at Mass? God can do anything, and as I have previously said, even your Baptism is a participation in the Eucharist, and Baptism is necessary and essential for salvation. Can God save people outside of Baptism and the Eucharist. Again, God can do anything, and we do not know all of His Ways - that is not possible, however, the normal way that He set it up for us to be saved is through the Eucharist, and we ignore that at our eternal peril.

from

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition, English translation 19941324

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." (Lumen Gentium 11)" The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch." (Presbyterorum ordinis)

1325

"the Eucharist is the efficacious sign and sublime cause of that communion in the divine life and that unity of the People of God by which the church is kept in being. It is the culmination both of God's action sanctifying the world in Christ and of the worship men offer to Christ and through him to the Father in the Holy Spirit." (Congregation of Rites, instruction, Eucharisticum mysterium, 6)

1326

Finally, by the Eucharistic celebration we already unite ourselves with the heavenly liturgy and anticipate eternal life, when God will be all in all. (Cf. 1 Cor 15:28)

Why is eucharist important to Catholics?

The Eucharist is important to Catholics because Christ is important to Catholics. You see, the Catholic Church teaches the doctrine of the real Presence, which means that Catholics believe that the host is not a mere symbol of the Body of Christ, and the wine of the blood. They are really and truly the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ sacramentally present under the appearance of bread and wine.

What do Roman Catholics believe happened at Lourdes?

Catholics are free to believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to Saint Bernadette in 1858. It is not an article of faith so belief is not required for salvation.

Why do catholic think bread and wine is symbolic?

How long do Lutherans believe Eucharist remains Jesus' body and blood?

Answer: Some Lutherans believe that Christ remains present in the Eucharist so long as the assembly is gathered. In other words, once the congregation has left, Christ is no longer present in the consecrated bread and wine. Other (more traditional, Catholic-leaning) Lutherans believe that Christ remains present after the congregation leaves and even reserve the Eucharist (as do Catholics and Orthodox) to be taken to those who are homebound. Catholics believe that Christ is present when the congregation leaves, and the Eucharist is treated with great reverence. The Catholic Church teaches that the presence of Christ remains so long as the consecrated bread remains bread; once it has deteriorated Christ is no longer present.

Do Catholics still believe that faith and good works are eternal salvation?

Well, both Martin Luther and the Catholics believed that salvation came from the grace of God. Martin luther believed that one was saved though faith alone. The Catholics believe that one is saved through both faith and good works.

Which Christian denominations do not celebrate the Eucharist and why?

Only Catholics celebrate the Eucharist. Catholics believe that Jesus is truly present under the appearances of bread and wine. Other christian denominations may have a 'communion service' in which they reenact the Last supper, but they believe that the Eucharist is a symbol of Jesus, not truly Jesus Himself. As a Lutheran clergyman who celebrates the Eucharist every week, I was surprised to read the above answer. While there may be many different names for the Eucharist ('Holy Communion', 'The Lord's Supper', and so on) they are only names and they do not necessarily indicate the understanding of the particular denomination. Lutheran theology teaches 'the Real Presence' of Christ's body and blood - 'in, with, and under the bread and the wine. Rather than "Consubstantiation" or "Transubstantiation", Lutherans believe in a "sacramental union" - that is we eat both the bread and the flesh, we drink both wine and the blood. Like Roman Catholics, Lutherans certainly do not teach that the Eucharist is nothing more than a symbolic meal, but rather that it is the real reception of the body and blood of our Lord.

Why do catholics believe children must be baptised soon after they are born?

Jesus said that the only sacrament that was essential to salvation is that of Baptism. That said, there really isn't a reason to put it off. If you think back to the days where child mortality rates were much higher in the first month or two, it makes a lot of sense.
