Yes, Catholics still follow the teachings of Christ that salvation is obtained by faith coupled with good works. As St. James said, "Faith without good works is dead." Also, read Matthew chapter 25.
Catholics are free to believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to Saint Bernadette in 1858. It is not an article of faith so belief is not required for salvation.
Well, both Martin Luther and the Catholics believed that salvation came from the grace of God. Martin luther believed that one was saved though faith alone. The Catholics believe that one is saved through both faith and good works.
Catholics believe the pope is the vicar of Christ on earth, Lutherans do not. Catholics believe they are saved by faith and good works. Lutherans believe they are saved by faith alone. Catholics believe in Purgatory, Lutherans do not.
There was a disagreement on the role of faith in salvation. Protestants believe that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone, not in one's works. Catholics believe one's works play a part in salvation. There were other issues brought up by early Protestants, such as Martin Luther, who wrote a list of them known as the 95 Theses. To see a list of these, see the Related Link.
Catholics do NOT believe Muslim is evil and believe in the goodness of all people, regardless of faith
They believe once saved always saved and you cannot lose your salvation once you are born again by the Holy Spirit. This is based on the scriptures. See John 10:27 through verse 30.
I believe that Jesus can provide salvation by grace through faith because through it everyone has a power and will to change his iniquities, but i think faith should have a right action.
yes. they believe faith is practiced alone Latin roots: -Sol=alone -Fid=faith
Christianity began in Jerusalem with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is about salvation and eternal life by grace and faith in Christ. If you don't believe this, you shouldn't call yourself a Christian.
There is no difference. The christian faith is made up of Catholics, Presbyterians Methodists, Baptists, etc. Non Catholics in the Christian faith are call Protestants. The Christian faith is a faith in Jesus Christ and His life, death and resurrection. Faith in Christ righteousness instead of our own good deeds for the salvation of the soul. A salvation from an eternal existence of the soul away from God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Those inside or outside the Catholic Church or the Protestant Church who are putting their trust and faith in their own good works rather than Christ's righteous life will spend eternity away from God the Father in an awful place.
Both Lutherans and Catholics believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation (the wafer and wine literally become the blood and body of Christ); both follow a bishop, deacon, priest hierarchy; both teach original sin as well as infant baptism; and both share a history from the first century Christian church to the 1500's. There are two major differences between them, however. Catholics believe in salvation via faith and good works, whereas Lutherans believe in salvation through faith alone. Catholics also believe that the Pope is God's emissary here on earth, whereas Lutherans believe that Christ is the only mediator before God that the Church has.
Both religions believe in salvation through faith alone and both see only the Bible (as opposed to: "... plus Catholic Church teachings") as the source of that faith. Calvinism however believes (well, mostly used to believe) in predestination, meaning that however you lived your life eternal salvation or damnation was already predestined at you birth. Lutherans believe that salvation is also determined by how you have lived your life. Another difference was that Lutherans retained more 'Catholic" liturgical practices in their church services.
