In the manga and brotherhood, Winry admits to herself that she's in love with Ed and has been for a long time. Ed hasn't admitted anything but he blushes a lot when he's around her and he's very overprotective of her and gets flustered when people say she's his girlfriend or something. By now, it is fair to say that he has similar feelings for her it's just that he hasn't admitted it yet.
Spoilers for Manga and Brotherhood: At the end of the series Edward proposes to Winry before leaving on a trip. She accepts. On the last page of the manga there is a photo that has Ed and Winry holding children that appear to be their own. Also Ed is wearing a wedding band.

It's obviously winry!!!! because If you watch the second OVA, Edward is shown as a grandfather with three grandchildren. Although in the beginning ed tries to hide his feelings for winry or rather try to think of it as a friendly like, his brother Al realizes that ed likes winry since they were kids and is thinking that he still has a huge crush for her considering how many times ed writes letters to her to tell her about there journey and refuses to show him the letter. Edward Elric's arm was taken away when him and Alphonse Elric, his younger brother, tried to bring their dead mother, Trisha Elric, back to life. In accordance to the Law of Equivalent Exchange Alphonse lost his body and Edward lost his leg. So Edward lost his arm to attach Alphonse's soul to a suit of arm using a blood seal.
Why is Edward Elric called the Fullmetal Alchemist?

Yes and no. but at the end of the series it shows them confessing there love for each other, ed says if i give you half my life will you give me half of yours. winry says she would give him the whole thing. and at the ending credits it shows a picture of ed, and winry holding two children that look like them. so its safe to say its there kids.
Does edward elric fall in love with winry?
No, they do not get married. At least in the first Fullmetal Alchemist series. But I highly doubt they will, in the manga or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Their love life is not part of the 'big' plot...but is a sub plot...maybe a kiss or something but no marriage soon -At the very end of the manga, they do have a confession of sorts. Its hard to explain, but to the question of married, in the very last page there is a collection of photos, Among them, Is one containing, Ed, Al, Winry and Mei. Winry is cradling an infant to her chest with eyes like hers. While Ed is holding a toddler with his color hair and the same smile. One can take that as evidence they get married. P.S Ed got tall * Edward got married to Winry and had 2 children, and Alphonse got married to Mei after his trip to Xing in the manga. Ed and Winry did get married, because if you do look at the picture that is discussed above (with the two children), Ed is wearing a wedding ring on his left hand. That is proof that he and Winry got married. :)

In the new anime... at the end of the whole series... ed claims that he wants to have an equivalent exchange with winry by him giving her half of his life for half of her life... winry on the other hand says she will give him all of her life... both blush and then edward laughs at the blushing winry... ed hugs her tightly and leaves on the train to the west... before that he promises to return soon... and at the end of the credits... it shows everyones life after the incident with all the homunculi... there it shows roy and riza, scar, roy's team, and many more... and at the end it shows ed and winry holding their two children, right behind them is al and mei smiling.... this proves that ed and winry end up together
