no. that rumor is ignorant and not true. im Haitian and none of my family members ate cat. they never even saw someone eat cat. there are chickens and goats running around and the choice is to eat cat?? i think not. that's why the world is how it is because of rumors

True possums are quite different to American opossums. It is illegal to hunt or kill them, let alone eat them in Australia. Although prolific, they are protected native animals.

However, the Brush-tailed possum has been introduced to New Zealand, where it has become an environmental pest. No doubt, if one chose to eat possum in New Zealand, one could do so quite legally.
