Do you need iPhone plan to have an iPhone?

The iPhone is only available for AT&T and yes, there is an iPhone-specific data plan that is required. iPhone's that have been "unlocked" can be used with other carriers such as T-Mobile or Verizon, but even then an extremely large to unlimited data plan would be required (otherwise, you would have a LOT of overage charges since the iPhone is connected to the internet at all times).

Do you have to pay for internet on LG Ally?

yes. even if you dont use the internet feature, the data plan still requires you to pay 29.99 or higher each month for use/no use.

If you buy a old palm treo 700w do you have to pay the 30 a month like all the new phones even if you dont want internet?

Any "Smartphone" now requires a data plan to evenm do the simplest things as send/reciev calls and texts. I am not familiar with all providers, but AT&T offers a $15 data plan, which is what I use for my iphone.

Why is my brother's iPhone slowing down the internet so much even when he is not connected?

If the Internet is slow when the device is NOT connected, then it is probably not related to that specific device.

Will your iphone 3GS data be lost forever if you restore it?

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to recover any data that was on your iPhone 3GS pre-restoration. Just to be clear I am not talking about the data you are recovering TO the iPhone, only the personal data blocks that are wiped over during a fresh recovery. If you are using firmware 3.1.2 or later and you restore your iPhone 3GS from a new iTunes installation the hardware encryption key is replaced making all your old personal data scrambled and unrecoverable unless you have another backup. That is for sure. Previous versions of the iPhone that do not have a hardware encryption key (3G, 2G, 1G) contain tid bits of recoverable personal information even after a new basic recovery. You would need to go through a long process of resetting all data to wipe those phones clean. Search the internet to find help to recover your personal data on those phones. Good Luck! Sorry about your loss.

If one person in your family already is paying 30 for iPhone service would a new iPhone user on the same plan pay the same amount or less?

Each iphone that you have is required to have a 30 dolllar monthly data plan. Its a way the businesses make money not needed but they will take away services if you do not pay this. ITs just some dumb idea that they made up to make even more $$you don't get s$ but if you dont pay it I think you dont get service for that month

Do you get free internet with the blackberry bold?

If you are on a data plan its free. If you aren't, you can still use it if you have wifi. For example, if you have wifi in your house you can go on the internet for free when you are at home. If you have a data plan it allows you to go on the internet even if you dont have wifi.

If you get a iPhone and you put your sims card in will you get charged for iPhone charges?

Short answer: No. Detailed Answer: You would first need to have a SIM card that is with AT&T. If it is with another carrier (such as T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, etc.), then you won't even be able to start the iPhone. If you already have AT&T, the iPhone can be used with extremely limited access. Actually, your iPhone won't be able to do much of anything. Even after putting in a SIM card, the iPhone will be limited to phone calls, text messages, and iPod features. Anything that requires an internet connection (which applies to just about everything else) will not work. If you try to go to a website, connect to YouTube, or even send a picture message, the iPhone will prompt you to contact your mobile provider. This is because the iPhone requires a very specific data plan that is only available through AT&T (so specific, in fact, that it is called the "iPhone plan"). After placing your SIM card in the iPhone, you would call AT&T, have them access your account, and tell them you are now using an iPhone. After the changes have been made, a restart of the iPhone is usually required. Once it reboots, all of the features will be available.
